We arrived here after a long journey at about 9.30pm, USA time. The jet stream was in our favour but we were diverted well north of Orlando because of local thunderstorms. There was a bit of a queue to get through passport control at Tampa but there was an even longer wait for our luggage which eventually arrived safely. We then had to pick up a hire car which again delayed us as there wasn't a car in the parking space we were told to go to. They found us another car and we eventually left the airport and had to negotiate heavy traffic in the dark but arrived here safely in the end.
The apartment is quite small but big enough for us. We have managed to carry all the luggage up the flight of steps to our accommodation. The promised supply of essentials didn't materialise so we spent the evening and early morning with water only. As expected we were awake at 5am local time, and after sorting more things out we had a leisurely drive to Publix (4 miles) to do our shopping. When we arrived back we had to carry all the shopping up to our apartment, but I think we have carried all we will need for now up the stairs, so hopefully any extras can be carried up with us when we do our necessary trips up.
The clouds have cleared and I am sitting looking out over the water. Ben has already been and fished on the little dock belonging to our apartment but hasn't caught anything yet. I went for a walk along the pier and the beach.
This afternoon we are going out to check out tomorrow's golf course. It is one we played last year when we were staying at Gulfport.
